40 Mini Health Goals for Your Best Year Yet!

With the new year quickly approaching, we decided to compile a list of health tips to help you have the happiest, healthiest year yet! We’re not saying you should work on all these, but as many as you can get, the better you’ll feel: Body
  1. Lose those extra Lbs (if you have them) for your health
  2. Take the stairs instead of the elevator all year
  3. Do 50 daily squats, push-ups or sit-ups
  4. Floss daily
  5. Keep alcoholic beverages down to 1 daily
  6. Quit smoking if you do it – your whole body will thank you
  7. Start doing Kegels (they are good for men too)
  8. Take better care of your skin (moisturize!)
  9. Aim for at least 150 minutes of exercise weekly
  10. Get regular checkups
  Diet
  1. Try to pass on unhealthy snacks
  2. Cut out chips for a year
  3. Eat more omega-3 fatty acids (in fish, nuts and seeds)
  4. Have a salad lunch 3 times every week
  5. Reduce take-out meals to once monthly
  6. Cook with and snack on produce as much as possible
  7. Drink more water (try it with lemon for a zing)
  8. Eat more fiber
  9. Use healthy substitutions when baking
  10. Try to stop drinking caffeine after supper
Mental Health
  1. Replace your negative thoughts with positive ones
  2. Stop complaining and take action
  3. Spend less time looking at screens
  4. Try to nix snap judgements
  5. Take whatever steps necessary to get that stress level down
  6. Try something new that challenges you
  7. Try to better manage your time
  8. Learn and practice meditation
  9. Try to stop procrastinating
  10. Take an hour out every day to do something that relaxes you
  Happiness
  1. Spend more time with your family or spouse
  2. Spend more time with your favorite friends and less with those who bring you down
  3. Spend more time outdoors
  4. Work on your sex life (if it needs shaping up)
  5. Take at least 45 minutes out for yourself each day
  6. Organize your whole house one room at a time
  7. Find ways to laugh everyday
  8. Take up a new hobby or learn a new skill
  9. Help others whenever possible
  10. Smile more – just do it!
